CLOTHERE is a solution for recycling clothes and textiles.

Globally, an estimated 92 million tonnes of textiles waste is created each year and the equivalent to a rubbish truck full of clothes ends up on landfill sites every second. By 2030, we are expected as a whole to be discarding more than 134 million tonnes of textiles a year.

Globally just 12% of the material used for clothing ends up being recycled and a far bigger % ends up being incinerated, releasing vast amounts of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

What Sankei have done to help reduce this environmental burden, is to create a new recycled paper from unwanted clothes. CLOTHERE is created by crushing and combining unwanted textiles and used paper, to produce a product with an individual finish due to its natural texture and that you can see strands from the individual brandsʼ clothes blended in.

A solution to the problem of clothing disposal.
It means that clothes are present within the recycled product.

What goes in to CLOTHERE.

Clothes collated from various sources

A maximum of 60kg is recycled per batch.

*10% of mixed fibres clothes are included in every 600kg.

*Certain fibres cannot be included and ideally zips, buttons and trims should be removed.

Crushing

*Clothes crushed in to 2mm particles.

Mix with used paper

90% of used paper combined with 10% of crushed clothes

Various forms of used paper are incorporated, such as cartons and packaging

Production and paper converting

*For every 60kg recycled, this makes approximately:- 2,200~3,600 sheets sized 788 x 1091mm can be produced.

(Other sizes and weights of paper are also available).

Printing and Processing

*CLOTHERE can be used in the same way as

conventional paper, e.g., printing, embossing,

debossing etc.

*Hang tags, bags, wrapping paper, packaging etc.
